Peter
W Beck, the founder and current Managing Director establishes
the company trading as Peter W Beck Pty Ltd in the city
of Adelaide, South Australia. Driven by the desire to
offer superior service, high quality products matching
the needs of customers and to establish a long term enterprise
Peter W Beck Pty Ltd is launched. Core products of the
inaugural business are Precious Metal Alloys and Jewellery
tools. |

Within
a short space of time the business has outgrown the premises
and the company moves to accommodate increased demand.
During this time manufacturing commences initially to
satisfy precious metal products for the manufacturing
jeweller. Staff numbers increase and the first Peter Beck
catalogue is produced promoting the sales of tools. |

1979 - 81 |

Growth
is strong and the company continues to expand. In 1980
Peter W Beck Pty Ltd commences manufacturing Wedding Rings.
To accommodate the increased sales demand and capacity
requirements the company secures larger premises for the
sales office and additional space for manufacturing. |

This
is a dynamic stage of the company's development characterised
equally by rationalisation and diversification. Precious
metal casting is introduced. New premises are purchased,
additional staff employed and the culture of acquiring
knowledge and skills is strengthened throughout the organisation.
This orientation toward increasing knowledge and skills
within the organisation continues to this day. |

The first
Peter W Beck colour catalogue is released and the company
begins an association with jewellery industry design awards
that continues to this day. On this occasion Peter W Beck
staff win a number of awards at the bi-annual Australian
Jewellery Design Awards. |

1991 - 92 |

These are
two dynamic and productive years as evidenced by a significant
lift in the national profile of the organisation. A national
jewellery industry Trade Fair is launched and Peter W
Beck are one of the first companies to support this event.
The annual Trade Fair continues to be an important event
on the yearly calendar. The second Peter W Beck catalogue
is released. The Original Comfort Wedder® is launched. |

1993 - 97 |

The company
releases a new colour catalogue which is the third catalogue
publication. Our distributors acknowledge Peter W Beck
catalogues are firmly established as benchmark documents
in the Australian Jewellery Industry. The Ezi-Fit®
option on wedding rings is launched at the annual Trade
Fair in August 1995 and Peter W Beck Pty Ltd win the best
overall stand award at this Trade Fair. Significantly
the company increases it’s commitment to the industry
with an increased sponsorship of the jewellery design
awards. Specifically the Peter W Beck Gold Design Award.
A collaborative venture between De Beers and selected
Australian jewellery manufacturers is launched and Peter
W Beck is one the firms selected. Refining, Precious Metal
Alloys and Casting Services experience solid growth during
this period. |

This year
marks an important milestone in the company’s evolution
whereby the company moves to new larger premises and implements
equipment upgrades. This enhanced company model with a
broader operating base places the company in a strong
position to plan for future growth and development. |

Peter W
Beck Pty Ltd is named one of South Australia’s leading
businesses based on independent research conducted by
Price Waterhouse Coopers and the National Australia Bank.
The fourth Peter W Beck colour catalogue is released at
the 1999 Australian Jewellery Trade Fair. The catalogue
further strengthens Peter W Beck's position of having
the largest range of Wedding Rings in Australia. The company
increases the scope and frequency of advertising support
material and expands the sales force. February 2001 marks
the 25th anniversary of the company and by this time many
customers have been part of the evolving company history
and a number of staff have reached 10 year, 15 year and
20 year milestones. |

The fifth
Peter W Beck colour catalogue is released. A record number
of new and innovative products are launched at the Australian
Jewellery Trade Fair. Peter W Beck sponsor the Peter W
Beck Gold Design Award and the Peter W Beck Platinum Design
Award. With world class Refining capabilities and 26 years
experience in manufacturing and marketing of Precious
Metal Alloy products, the Precious Metal Services division
experiences substantial growth. |
